NSW Office of the Government Architect

An expert, professional, independent and impartial agency within the Department for Planning and Environment, providing strategic advice to the NSW State Government. The NSW OGA works across government to improve social, environmental and economic outcomes for communities by enabling and supporting good design quality in our built environment. The NSW OGA provides leadership for the NSW Government in the areas of architecture, heritage, urban design, landscape architecture and strategic design.

NSW Architect Registration Board

The NSW ARB administers the Architects Act 2003, the legislation regulating architects in NSW. The legislation seeks to achieve: “a community actively discussing architecture that is contributing to its wellbeing... The benefits will be a more transparent profession of architecture, clearly articulated to community needs and conducting its business within a regulatory regime that is simply administered and easily worked within”.

Occupying 5.8 hectares on the former site of the Carlton and United Brewery on Broadway, the $2billion urban development comprises of residential, student living, a multi-level shopping centre, commercial office space and multiple hotels, plus the beautiful Chippendale Green in the heart of it all.
