The Sydney Architecture Festival Global Oration

Celebrating World Architecture Day is a high point of the Festival every year and this year is no exception – we are thrilled to announce that the 2016 Sydney Architecture Festival global oration will be delivered by Indy Johar, UK based architect and co-founder of Architecture00:

Grand, gorgeous and only for the 1%. Is this really the future of architecture in the 21st century?

Can architects embrace the participatory? What if architecture was an open-source movement for the change we want to see? Does architecture have the power to create a stronger, more social economy? On this World Architecture Day we ask - can architecture truly help design a better world?

Indy’s talk will be followed by a panel discussion with Peter Poulet (NSW Government Architect), Professor Laura Lee (Professor of Architecture, Carnegie Mellon University), Peder Balzer Neilsen (City Architect, Aalborg, Denmark), Gerard Reinmuth (Practice Professor, UTS and Director Terroir), facilitated by Diana Snape (Festival Director).
