Architecture Graduate

Alexandra McRobert

Alexandra is currently completing doctoral research focused on housing affordability, prefabricated housing, and applied design research methodologies as a PhD Candidate in the Future Building Initiative at Monash University. She is also part of the Centre for Advanced Manufacture of Prefabricated Housing ITTC and a recipient of the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship.

Alexandra has worked as an architectural graduate in small and medium sized firms, where she completed various housing projects from granny flats and terraces through to large mixed-use, multi-residential buildings. This work led to her research focus on environmentally, socially, and financially sustainable housing typologies. As a result, Alexandra has also completed a series of volunteering and research projects overseas including informal housing settlements in India, Nepal, and Guatemala, Prefabricated Housing in Sweden, Zero Carbon Housing in Japan, and alternative housing typologies throughout Europe.
